About Wichita Public Library - Alford Branch
The Lionel D. Alford Branch Library has been located near I-235 and Meridian since 2003. The library was dedicated in memory of Lionel D. Alford (1925-2000), a retired senior vice president at Boeing who chaired the Wichita/Sedgwick County Partnership for Growth, started the Kansas Food Bank, and led the campaign for the Wichita Public Schools bond issue in 2000. The building will undergo a remodel in 2025.
