This Little Free Library is NOT a building - it is a SMALL BOX that we share the love of exploration and discovery with the free exchange of books, seeds, vegetable and native plants, so neighbors can grow their own garden oasis. We love the way that our little urban property has been converted to a natural, organic, permaculture food forest, certified wildlife and monarch habitat, and is bringing all kinds of people in the community together to share resources and information on growing your own food and saw the Little Free Library as an extension of this, making it accessible to those who may not have access to the internet, computers, smartphones, or transportation, and was built from recycled materials as a mini-version of our hOMe.

A: Hello Me'Kiayla, this is a Little Free Library - it is not a building but a box of free books for our community so it does not have computers here. It is a box stand in our front yard that provides free access to books for our community. One of the most successful ways to improve the reading achievement of children is to increase their access to books. But 61% of low-income families do not have any age-appropriate books for their kids at home, and children growing up in homes without books are on average 3 years behind children with lots of books, even when other factors are taken into account. Sunny Glen Wellness has joined the movement to provide a Little Free Library stand in the front yard with 24/7 FREE access to a few books (and sometimes vegetable seeds, plants, and flowers). Come take a book or bring one to share.
