CAT HEAD is Mississippi's blues store in Clarksdale since 2002. "The store [the owner] always wanted to walk into but could never find," and a first-time visitor's first stop. In addition to crazy cool stuff to buy, the owner's mission is to "organize and promote the blues from within," so he offers a free Sounds Around Town music calendar flyer as well as Tourism maps and info/recommendations at the counter. Cat Head stocks an amazing array of blues/MS/Clarksdale t-shirts, fleece, ball caps, books, CDs, DVDs, vinyl LP records, beverage glasses and wall art (incl. blues/folk art paintings plus posters/prints).
