About Fred Heutte Garden - Friends of Fred Heutte Foundation

2 acre property in the heart of Ghent Square. Includes a gardening education center, demonstration gardens and arboretum. The Fred Heutte Center is in a former water ferry passenger concession terminal built in 1887 and originally located on Norfolk water front. Relocated in 1976 to its current location. Center, gardens and arboretum are organized and maintained by volunteers. All are welcome. Volunteer hours usually Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday 9 AM to noon. Fred Talks (gardening classes and demonstrations) will begin in August 2023 on the 4th Sunday of the month (except holidays) from 2PM to 4PM. Ferry Terminal available for tours and to rent.
