A: Hi Hope! Thanks for reaching out. There is definitely a lot to do and so much going on! I'd recommend looking at our event calendar to get a feel for the variety of happeneings. https://visitelizabethcity.com/Events For nature & kayaking we're a waterfront community with several kayak launch locations plus local groups you can join. And as I'm sure you know, we're a Coast Guard City so we love all our Coasties! I would say the biggest difference between Elizabeth City & Virginia Beach is the overall size (we literally have no traffic) and community - it is a pretty small town here, folks get to know each other and everyone lends a helping hand as needed.
