About Coffee Time

Coffee Time is more than a coffee shop. It's been an iconic and beloved hub of the community at NW 21st & Irving (one block north of Cinema 21) since 1994... a place to hang out, work, study, read a book, play a board game, socialize as long as you like. For over 25 years, we have proudly supported the independent culture of NW Portland by being a welcoming living room where friends and neighbors enjoy food sourced from local suppliers, drink locally-roasted coffee... and admire murals and other artwork created by local artists (all of them our customers). Relaxing, yet energizing, coffee is a firmly ingrained part of American culture and a treasured staple in Portland. In 2015 we launched our own roasting company: Cascadia Coffee Roasters.

Featured Question

Q: Can I bring my dog into the establishment to chill? Not just outside?

A: EDIT: they're totally dog friendly, any attitude I got was a one off. I have seen people in there with dogs, but I personally have never tried it. I will say that the last time that I went in there with my dog just to grab a cup to go I got a little bit of attitude. I'm not sure whether that was because the barrista was having a bad day or what. Also noticed that another coffee shop that has always been dog friendly actually put a sign up in their window a la the snooty shop on 21st and Glisan, which makes me wonder whether maybe the health inspector had something to say to the coffee shops? In short, Coffee Time is probably the most dog-friendly place to bring your dog, but I wouldn't say there's a guarantee anywhere in the immediate neighborhood right now.
