We Just Added Canada

593 new laptop-friendly cafes across all 13 provinces and territories

Canadian remote workers can stop guessing which cafes welcome laptops.

We just launched Canada on Study Near Me. Every province and territory is covered. Montreal to Vancouver. Toronto to Yellowknife. If you work remotely in Canada, you can now find verified laptop-friendly spots in your city.

The Problem Was Real

Canadian remote workers faced the same challenge as Americans. You walk into a cafe not knowing if laptops are welcome. Will there be WiFi? Power outlets? A quiet atmosphere?

Google shows you thousands of cafes. It doesn’t tell you which ones work for remote workers.

What We Built

We added 593 Canadian businesses to our database. Each location is verified for remote work compatibility. No guessing.

The Canadian search works like the US version:

  • Search by postal code or current location
  • Filter for certified-only venues
  • See distances in kilometers
  • Get real-time hours and availability

Why Canada Made Sense

Remote work is huge in Canada. Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal have thriving digital nomad communities. Smaller cities like Halifax and Calgary are building remote work cultures.

Canadian coffee shops often have better WiFi than American ones. Many actively welcome remote workers. The challenge was finding them.

The Technical Challenge

Adding Canada meant solving postal code geocoding. American ZIP codes are simple. Canadian postal codes are complex.

We integrated offline postal code data. No third-party APIs. Fast, reliable lookups for all Canadian postal codes.

The country switcher lets you toggle between US and Canadian searches. Your location context determines which database you search.

What’s Next

This expansion doubles our coverage area. North American remote workers now have a complete directory.

We’re watching usage patterns in Canadian cities. Toronto and Vancouver show strong early adoption. Smaller cities are discovering the platform through word-of-mouth.

Canadian businesses can request verification through our standard process. Human reviewers confirm laptop policies, WiFi quality, and work-friendly atmosphere.
